Outdoor Bird Market near Notre Dame
I have read that the Flower Market near Notre Dame becomes an outlet for exotic birds and related items on Sundays.
Has anyone visited this? What was it like? Also, did anyone buy a feathered friend and take it to his or her home country? What were the procedures like? |
We were there years ago. It would be nice to be able to buy a bird but you cannot bring it home with you to the US.

" Pet birds obtained overseas may be imported into the United States if quarantined in a USDA Animal Import Center for a minimum of 30 days.
Quarantine arrangements must be made in advance because facilities are limited and are available only at certain ports of entry." |
Plutarch, We were there 2-1/2 years ago and enjoyed it very much. I have some neat pictures of all the pretty birds. There were some beautiful flowers as well, but mostly birds. It's a good way to start off a Sunday in the Marais.

I've never liked it : I feel sorry for the birds being confined in small cages & think it's cruel.
|
We were there this past sunday. There were also stands selling pet supplies. We purchased a toy baquette for our Boston Terrier. (which she immediately chewed to pieces) There were also nursery plants for sale; small trees bushes, etc. I didn't really see flowers, but there may have been some.
