Ileen, thanks for the additional information on Tallinn and for providing us with some of Estonia's history. I definitely plan to watch "The Singing Revolution". What an inspiring story! I know we didn't have enough time in Estonia, but now I know we definitely need to go back. A country that gained its independence peacefully through song really should be experienced for more than a few hours. And that festival sounds like loads of fun.
Adelaidean, you are right, we surely all need a distraction right now. I'm glad you enjoyed my report.
Thursdaysd, we both would love to do another RTW trip. I'm dreaming, and hoping, that such a trip could happen sooner rather than later. When we were forty, we could foresee years of travel in our future, but at our age now, we know how important it is to make the most of every bit of available traveling time we have. Once the world opens up again, that's what we plan to do!

Thank you, everyone, for following my extended trip report, and offering your kind words of encouragement. As ileen said, writing this report was a great project during these long days of confinement at home, keeping me happily occupied for hours at a time. I will miss it!

Again thank you for your lovely trip report and congratulations on such a mile stone of being married for 50 years. That is an amazing feat these days. I am so glad you got all this done and now you have all those memories to think about until this situation is over and we can all go out again.
you mentioned seeing Amber. When we were doing our Baltic cruise which as I said had a stop in Talon Estonia we also had a stop in Sopot Poland and saw a lot of Amber there as well.

Thursdaysd, it's interesting to know that you preferred Riga to Tallinn. I'd love to include Latvia in a Baltic itinerary someday.

Maitaitom, I'm glad you enjoyed my round the world report. I've just been reading your trip report on Montreal and Quebec, and you've inspired me. Although it is only a 4 hour drive from our home in Upstate New York to Montreal, we've never travelled there, although we have been to Quebec a few times. Your descriptions of everything you saw, experienced, ate, and enjoyed in that historical city, made me realize what we've been missing all these years. Seeing the world is wonderful, but sometimes special places close to home get overlooked.

I really appreciate your initial description of Prague. It brought back memories. After my visit in the Summer of 2003, I felt that not much can prepare you for the beauty of Prague. BTW, the only part that was horrifically crowded was Golden Lane. Plenty of other tourists elsewhere, but never enough to make it unpleasant, and in parts we still felt like pioneers,like descending the steps from Charles Bridge to Kampa Island. When we were there, someone told us that Krakow is like what Prague used to be before the tourists, so we made that our next vacation. Krakow is every bit as astonishing as Prague, though they do not look similar. Prague is ornate Western European, and Krakow is ramshackle Eastern, but both are jaw-dropping.

I've been following your wonderful report, Candace, and enjoying it very much. If you did another RTW, where would you go that you didn't get to this time? Is there any place you're itching to revisit? How long would you take? Thanks for posting!

Shelemm, I had never given Poland, or Krakow, much thought as a potential travel destination, but you've intrigued me with your comparison of Krakow to Prague. Now I have it on my travel radar. Thanks for the tip!

Trophywife007, if we were to do another RTW trip, we would go in the opposite direction. Depending on pricing, we'd probably start in Europe, then head down to Cape Town, South Africa, which we understand is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. After that, a lot would depend on the routes available using the OneWorld partners, but we know we would love to explore more of Asia, including Vietnam and Thailand, Hong Kong, and maybe South Korea. As far as revisiting places we've already been, I think we would be happy to go back to most of the countries we visited on our first RTW, but first we would probably want to explore new places. On a second RTW, we would want to spend at least two months, if we could swing it, and if obligations at home didn't limit us. Won't it be wonderful when the world finally opens up again, and we can all begin to plan new trips? But at the same time, I have to wonder how much will be changed when that finally does happen. Things will never quite be the same, I'm sure.
