Our Pre-Trip Party for Travels in Sept. 2013

Four and an half months to go until our trip...

We gathered with our traveling companions at our house for a pre-trip get-together. We are heading to the Aveyron, Lot and Dordogne. We will begin our trip in Montpellier and will end in Toulouse.

For fun, I gave each couple 2 CD's with my favorite French songs/music. Of course, I had to include Andre Roques "Bonjour Le Tarn" and "Mon Aveyron!" And to include "J'ai Deux Amours" by Josephine Baker was a no-brainer. Add a few Edith Piafs, Maurice Chevalier, etc. and it was a nice mix!

One couple brought some fois gras (he bought it on our last trip) and toast points. Add some other delicious food, a few bottles of French wine, and homemade salted butter caramel ice cream for dessert. A good time was had by all!

And I handed out some "Golden Rules of Traveling with Friends" that I gathered from many posts here. I will definitely post a trip report when we are back. It will be interesting to say the least. We have traveled with two other couples before, but never with three couples. I do expect us to go our separate ways often, and not travel en masse.
