My last trip, I "did" one thing a day, then rest of day wandered. I guess that's an ideal itinerary..if you've been a few times.

I look at you itineray again, and I still thinks it's busy but not too bad.

What needs to be considered is that one you leave for the day, you will not be going back to hotel before dinner. So your touring days are from...say 10AM-8PM, dinner time. Myself, I would go back to hotel, drop off stuff, relax, then go eat. This won't apply for the first part of your stay.

You do seem to have a balance between "doing" and "seeing" By doing, I mean going to a particular place and spending tome there , be it a museum, Notre Dame,etc..By seeing, I mean going tto an area, walking around with a plan to see what is there, but no particular 'stops' required.

Like Sunday, you want to see view from Notre Daem (doing) by Montmartre is a wander (seeing).

So...more meanderings...

Sunday...chek into Montmartrobus, the funicular is not running (last I heard)

Monday...since I don't see Marais anywhere, why not do a tour in the morning, then wander area rest of day. Place des Vosges.

Tuesday...this is the tricky day. Are you meeting your friends at CDG hotel, or at Invalides? I might start at Torcadero metro, walk between buildings of Chaillot..boom, great views of Eiffel tower. Cross over Seine, if lines are short, go up, otherwies chekc out Champ de Mars, head towards Nap's tomb, see Rue Cler, have lunch. Nap's tomb, park in front of Invalides. From there, visit Rodin. This should get you to late afternoon. Walk along out Seine.. plan dinner. You spend day in this area, but plan going up Eiffel on different day, was this to acomodate other's plans?

Wed...day at Versailles. RER down, full garden tour, back late afternoon.

Thurs...Giverny, RER down, back mid-late afternoon. Orsay for couple hours, dinner then music begins.

Fri..

Sat...I might skip Fointainebleau, unless there is something specific about it. You'll have seen Versailles and Loire chateaux already...Good day for a walking tour.

Sun, OK. Maybe do the Champs Elysee, Arc, Concorde, Vendome,etc..today

Mon..add Ile St Louis, Seine walk, crypts in front of Notre Dame, climb tower?, deportation memorial.

Tues..good

Wed...fine. But I might consider where this day should be. Is a day of Louvre require more or less energy...nearer beginning of stay you may have mroe energy...as time marches on, you might find yourselves wanting more down time.

For nighttime, Seine cruise is in my opinion better then than during day. Also, plan on being somewhere where can see sparkling Eiffel, be int Palais Chillot, bridge over Seine, restaurant with view (Francois?). If you like classical music, there is a nighttime concert at St Chapelle, likewise, many many old churches will have ~1hr long concerts regularly at night. Or even....a movie (look for V.O after title, which means in English with french subtitles)

As others have said, you are spending a bit more than what is "recommended" outside of Paris. When I go, I have lots o fplans, entrance times,etc...of places I could go to, but when I get there I find there are a few places : I must" go to, rest kind of falls by the wayside as I read my paper at a cafe...

I notice you have the Luxembourg gardens on your list and, during your visit, there is a fabulous exhibit at the Luxembourg Museum (in the gardens) of jewelery by Lalique. Don't be put off that it's jewelery and think you wouldn't be interested, like I was. Each piece is an incredible work of art, almost all of it from the Art Nouveau period, and unlike anything you've ever seen. And then a stroll in that garden is one of Paris' pleasures. Enjoy!

Great advice by all. It sounds like we can skip Fontainebleau since we are going to Versailles. That will free up a day.

We do have a few things to work around in this trip.
- First 7 nights we have to stay near CDG. Then 5 nights in Paris.
- Other couple staying in Paris entire time.
- Husband is on business first 7 days. He has three must sees Louvre, Eiffel (he wants to walk up) and Notre Dame. So we want to accommodate that.

We will work on re-arranging some of this, putting some things on a "wish list" if there is time and then throw it out the window when we get there LOL.
