Our 14 rolls of lost film of Italy have been found!!!

For anyone who read the sad post script to my Italy trip report: after almost a month of being lost, our 14 rolls of film from our Italy trip have been found! I had been working through the stages of grief...I was on "anger".

It seems that at CVS there are two big bags behind the counter - one for film to be processed, the other for things to go to corporate hdq. So, where ever CVS' corp. hdq. is, our film has been there and back.

I'm so relieved!!!

HURRAY!! What a wonderful feeling. Now you just have to deal with organizing, labeling, etc., etc.

Now, why were they dropped off at CVS?

Or, better still, why have you not as yet joined the digital generation?

If I did I imagine everybody else already has.

My husband is the photographer. He uses this ancient manual camera he had in college. I was ready to switch to digital. I researched. I narrowed it down to two models. We went to Best Buy so he could try them out. All he had to do was decide between the two of them. That was 6 months ago....still awaiting his decision!

Missypie, you realize of course that your research of 6 months ago is now outdated...

I know, Mark. In a flury of cleaning last week, I even pitched the info I had gathered...but then I figured that it was no longer relevant anyway.

Lost film was one of the reasons I finally went over to digital. It only happened to me twice, over twenty years apart. And it was only one roll in each case. But neither was ever recovered. I guess the odds are probably better of finding 14 lost rolls than one! All the same, it's wonderful that they did find them. And horrible that you had to go through the grief process! If this does help to convince your husband that it's time to make the switch, at least some good will have come of it.

missypie, that is such fabulous news! I recall my first trip to Europe (8 countries in 10 days while doing high school performing as a teenager) and the photo processing machine "malfunctioned" with my rolls in it. I ended up with 3 rolls out of 14. Arrrghhh.

I am so glad that you have had better luck than I did. Whew!
