Oslo, Norway or Göteborg, Sweden?
 

I will be traveling around Europe next year, and I'm trying to decide if I should head from Stockholm to Oslo or Göteborg before moving on to Copenhagen. Does anyone have any strong opinions on either city? I've never been to Norway or Sweden, so I'm really up for anything!

I'll be traveling alone (female, 29), and what I'll be doing on this trip is taking cooking classes in the various places I visit. As such, food/restaurants are big on my list, and while it would be great to taking a cooking course in either place if I can find one, it's not a 'must-have.' I also love art museums, architecture, chatting with people, and just generally exploring places I've never been before to snap pictures and blog about them.

If you feel like one would be a better fit than the other, let's hear it :)

Oslo is a great city to visit. We have taken the train from Stockholm to Oslo. And from Oslo to Copenhagen.

The Norway In a Nutshell tour to Bergen and back gives great views of part of Norway.

I love walking down KarlJohansgata on a Saturday. Families are there, the university students are usually up to something and it is a fun time.

Oslo has a lot more to see/do than Goteborg - assuming you have several days to spend there.

Haven't been to Goteborg, but would definitely recommend Oslo. Agree with Vigeland and Norway in a Nutshell to Bergen as highlights. Fabulous.

have only been to stockholm in sweden so cant comment

in june this year
so alive in the good weather
loved loved the statues frogner a must see
the best sculptures ive seen
something so poignant about them
i took so many shots
trying to capture the simple yet powerful expressions and poses
wish we couldve lingered longer but it was drizzling

loved strolling rou d the harbour and the streets in general
we stayed at gabelhus
wonderful all round

oh and go to the war resistance museum on bygdoy
wow...that was sooo powerful for me
i was moved to tears
