Oslo in one day?
 

If I had only one day to spend in Oslo, which are the sites that are a must for me to visit?

I remember reading about a park with a lot of artistic carvings, there's a castle (and fortress)located just along the sea, and a vikings museum located on the peninsula. These are the 3 of the sites I plan to visit.

Any other suggestions?

The park you mean is Vigelund Park with lots of (mostly naked) figures.
The castle is Akershus, where often cruiseships dock.
Interesting is also Holmenkolmen Skijump with great view over the city.
Public transport in Oslo is very good.

When I was there, I did 2 of the 3 things you mention. The Vigeland sculpture park is wonderful. I loved it. I did not have time to go inside the fortress. I was on a cruise ship and we were docked right across from it, and saw it all day. The viking museum is OK and probably the best bet to see a viking style ship. I might recommend a Fjord boat ride. The boats are not great, but the scenery IS! I did one that was a couple hours. You get the boat right in the main center harbor area in the center of the town. Have a nice time

My husband & I were in Oslo this summer & visited all of those sites. If we had to do it in one day, I would prioritize the Vigeland Statue Park and the Fram & Kontiki museums on the peninsula above touring the Akershus fortress. The Viking Ship museum is also located on the peninsula, but at a different spot from the other two. Personally, we enjoyed the Fram & Kontiki more and if strapped for time would skip the Viking Ship museum unless you have a special interest. We also would highly recommend the Nobel Peace Prize museum.
