Orvieto in May - Do I need A/C?

Hi, I am trying to get some opinions on renting a B&B in Orvieto in mid-May that does not have air conditioning. It is 100 Euros per night and the name is CasaVera Orvieto. I am looking at their Dimora Iris suite. It looks nice and seems to have those thick stone walls that seem like it would keep it cool. Any thoughts? Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Historically, the weather in May will be an average high of 77 degrees.
How comfortable are you without air conditioning?
The low can be 53. Are you comfortable without heat at that temperature?

Probably not !

I've stayed in Orvieto in late August without AC and it was fine in the room at night (had a fan). Days were hot, but I wasn't usually in the room during the day.

I've also stayed mid-Sept. and it was cold.

I've stayed in Orvieto and Pienza in May and didn't need AC and I absolutely hate hot weather.

Even if you wanted it, it probably wouldn't be available, since most hotels in Italy and elsewhere in Europe have specific times of year when they turn on the A/C - and it wouldn't be May. Maybe if you chose a really high-end hotel you could opt for it, but no, you don't need it.
