Thanks, Stu. I am Betsy, not Betty, but that's OK, cuz you give such good travel tips!!

I have looked at that site and it certainly looks good!

But what do you like about Turin? I've been looking at the Fiat complex (on the web) and learned there is quite a good museum there. Do you know abut it.

Thanks. again.

Betsy:
I've given Turin a wide berth in past drive-thru's, so i can't help much. However, EKSCRUNCHY wrote a great report which included Turin... Have a great trip..

I think I was confused. It was not you, but Castellanese who goes to Turin. Maybe he or she will tell me what they think of it.
I'll also look at EK's - it's hard to keep up with such a lot of good "stuff."

Ha! Didn't notice at first this was a 3-year-old thread. I was going to say just about the same thing I posted in 2007.

Hi!

Turin is a lovely city. It's quiet and charming (at least the historic center). Besides, it's Italy without the massive tourist-oriented industry that tend to spoil Rome, Florence and Venice. However, Turin's charm is subtle; don't expect to be blown away either like when you visit Rome, Florence and Venice.

My top 5 things to do in Turin: The Roman Quarter, Piazza Castello & Piazza San Carlo, Porta Palazzo Market, Valentino Park, and shopping around Via Roma and Via Garibaldi.

I never made it to Lingotto or Basilica di Superga. My trip report on Turin and Lake Orta is somewhere on Fodors. I'm always planning to go back, but this year is Trieste's turn.

Hey, I'm with Mr._Go - it never occurred to me that this was a 2007 post in the beginning.

Some things are timeless!!

Castellanese - thanks for the link!

Bob,

Are you planning to attend the Palio d'Asti again?

No Steve, once was enough, but we did spend 9 nites there the first time--the longest stay at one location in all of my 25 Europe trips.
