Orphanages in Athens, Greece

I have dicided to do a documentary on the current situation for childen i Athens based on the economic crisis. I have read that many parents are no longer able to support and feed their children. I am now looking for a person that works in a orphanage or care center for children that I can follow during my time in Athens.

Do you by any chance know of anyone that works with children? Do you have any knowledge on the subject, or could be able to help me find a contact person that has knowledge about this? I really appreciate any help and information!

Thank you!

In certain cases where both parents are unemployed, they certainly have difficulties, but saying that many parents are not able to feed their children is absolutely not true !!!!!

Here are some websites :

If this is your going=in assumption - that large numbers of people are giving up their children to orphanages - I wouldn't expect to get a very positive reception.

If you are simply want to understand the situation in Greek orphanages - that might be a different story - but I would anticipate that you would have to go through the government to do so.
