orly to CDG timing transfer
Hi, I am arriving Orly from Rome Easyjet at 1145 am sunday oct 29. I have a flight at CDG 1500 to Canada. Is this enough time? I am thinking of the Air France shuttle. Maybe a private shuttle service would be more efficient?
|
The Air France buses run every half-hour. I think the enroute time is about 1:40, so if you just miss one, you'll be pretty tight checking in on time.
The RER train takes 57 minutes from Antony to CDG Terminal 2, plus it will take another few minutes to get to Antony on the Orlyval automated train. The RER runs about every 10-12 minutes around noon on Sundays. Orlyval runs every 4 minutes. |
Should I just book some kind of shuttle service then? I read the air france bus has a 60 minute transit time.

I think you have cut things awfully short no matter which mode you take - you have just a skosh over 3 hours from touch down to take off. Even assuming your easyJet is spot on on time you still have to wait for luggage and transport. Which airline are you flying to Canada? And from which terminal? Each has their own check in requirements/recommendations. Have you been through CDG before - it is not a quick airport to get around. Good luck.
(Any chance you can get an earlier flight from Rome - or come in the night before) |
meant to add - Even if it was a 60 minute transit time you will have to be pretty lucky to make this. It will likely be 12:30 or later before you are on any train/bus/shuttle and at least 1400 before you get to CDG
|
A taxi might be your best choice (especially if you're late), since it will pick you up right outside the terminal and take you straight to your terminal at CDG. It'll be pricey, but surely the fastest - the road distance is only 40km, so you can probably do it in as many minutes.
If you aren't delayed getting out of Orly, I think the train remains a viable option. |
I'm flying Zoom Air to calgary. The Airport Connection shuttle offers a private shuttle for 80 euros total for the 2 of us. They state a noon pickup and a
1:15 pm arrival at CDG. This seems ok. It's almost the same cost as the easyjet from Rome. Ryanair flys in to Beauvais from Rome at 9 AM but the hassle from there to CDG, is it worth it? I am willing to consider it if anyone knows Beauvais to CDG transport. I think you have to go into Paris. What would a taxi from Orly to CDG cost? Thanks so far everyone. |
OK, I just found a Beauvais Airport shuttle from Beauvais to CDG for 72 Euros total for 2 people. The Ryan Air lands at 9 am, giving us a lot of leeway to get to CDG for 1500 departure. I'm not sure how long to drive from Beauvais to CDG, probably 1 1/2 hours? I guess we can chill out for a while somewhere after 5 weeks on the continent. Thoughts?

W/ a 1145 landing don't count on being anywhere near your shuttle by noon. 1230 is much more realistic. Orly is smalll but fairly confusing.
So adding 30 mins to the shuttle's estimate - and you are now arriving at CDG close to 1400 - and that is VERY short for transatlantic check in/security. Not saying you wouldn't make it - but you definitely are cutting it close. And missing your flight due to a late easyJet arrival, delays getting your bags, heavy traffic, or any other reason - and your Zoom Air ticket is useless. |
Oh - I was posting at the same time and our post crossed - my comments were re the CDG schedule.
If it were me - I'd feel much happier w/ the longer connection into Beauvais. |
hi all, yeah, Ryan air it shall be. Less stress. Cheers!

If you do not check your baggage, the Easyjet option is the best. Arriving on a Schengen zone flight, you could be on the RER/Orlyval within 15 minutes, and you would already be at CDG by 13:30 at the latest with no traffic jam worries. Tickets for 2 would run about 30 €.
