Orly sud to Orly Ouest?
 

We'll land at Orly south and pick up luggage, then need to get to Hertz in Orly west. There seem to be two ways to get from terminal to terminal, Orlyval and a navette. Is the navette a bus? My concern is having to lift our heavy bags onto a bus so would prefer to enter at platform level. I'd appreciate any advice you can give.

You Can Just walk. It Is no more than few hundred meters. And You Will find trolleys for your heavy bags. Hertz is at ground level at Ouest saving You escalators or lifts when You take the Val (aerial at Orly)

The Orlyval is the best way to change terminals. It has elevators and escalators and is free between the two terminals. Travel time is one minute.

The shuttle buses are also free, but they take longer.

And you should know by now that you should not travel with heavy bags!

Orlyval is the navette, which is mainly a French term for some kind of shuttle. It is usually a bus but Orlyval is a light rail system.

I think they have a bus between midnight and four instead, maybe.

Just how "heavy"? Are you moving to France?

Anything too large/heavy to schlepp on to a bus is too large/heavy.

Anyway, the Orlyval runs every 4 minutes.

I just loaded my family luggage into the car.
Basically we take 1 Kgm per person per day.
With a min of 10 kgm and a max of 30.
If schlepping was an Olympic game I'd be top notch.

Thanks, all of you. We stay for a month and rent a car. Only at the airport are we actually carrying all of our luggage. My share is under 30 kilos, but I'm a wimp. Luckily my husband is also an Olympic-level schlepper, Wo.

30 kg (or even close) is a HUGE amount for one person. I travel for 2-4 weeks at a time and my bag never weights more than 10 or 11 kg. Usually less. And no, I don't dress like a street person. Just because you'll have a car doesn't mean you need to carry the kitchen sink . . .

While we're nitpicking, it is perhaps pertinent to say that this transport is not <b>in</b> Paris and that the section between Orly Ouest and Orly Sud is 100% free.
