Orly bus

Hi. Already planning our trip to Paris for Sept. this year. Have been to Paris many times before but always landed at Rossy, and from there took bus #351 to Nations. This year landing at Orly and have different hotel in the 12th, rue Chaligny close to Reully/Diderot metro. Would like bus similar to previous trips. Not too fond of Metro because seniors and not great for stairs especially pulling luggage. Would the RER get us near without much transfer? Any help on best economical way? Thanks for all your help .

The Air France bus takes you from Orly to several central Paris stops. It is a large coach, storage of baggage underneath.

In your case, Gare de Lyon stop is close to Reuilly/Diderot metro. 1 stop on metro, probably too a long walk.

Take a taxi..Is not very expensive..I took a taxi from Orly to Rue Bonaparte and paid around 28 Euros.

The AF bus is probably the best suggestion if you won't take a taxi, but you are going to have to deal with the metro and stairs no matter what, either that way or the RER (which would involve even more transfers than the AF bus as the line from Orly doesn't go to Gare de Lyon). Why don't you have a metro/RER map if you've been to Paris so many times?

I'd take a taxi, there are two of you the cost is covering and it isn't as expensive as from CDG. Otherwise, I think the AF bus and then the metro.

Sorry, was wrong about Orly to GdL. Montparnasse would be the place to taek a taxi.

Thanks for all your useful info. Looks like too much with luggage after all night flight. Guess we're just getting old. Think we'll book ahead with yellowvan shuttle. Looks the easiest and not too expensive. Thanks again

The easiest is to simply walk to the taxi stand near baggage claim. Taxi will cost you less than a shuttle, is much more reliable, and you´ll wait for no other passengers. A taxi will typically cost 25€ to 30€ and take you directly to your hotel. Yellowvan charges 19€ each for a shared ride van when two are travelling. Shared ride vans form ORY can take more than double the en route taxi time.

The RER/métro cost is 10.90€ each and that only gets you close to your hotel.

THANKS Sarastro. That's the taxi price for 2? Sounds good and easy

The price for a taxi from Orly given above does not include luggage I assume? Is that 3 euros per piece, even if they are carry-on bags?
Thanks.

Taxis typically charge, above the posted fare, 1€ per bag placed in the trunk after the first which is at no charge.

A couple travelling together in a taxi would rarely pay more than 1€ additional for their luggage.

I generally tip 3% to 5% of the fare.
