Orly Airport to Paris - Advice Needed

Hi,

I am debating if I should take public transportation from Orly Airport to my hotel in the 6th or hire airport shuttle.

I looked up the public transportation route and it seem kind of confusing. I was wondering if its worth the money to just get a shuttle and not deal with the hassle with luggage and all?

If so, does anyone have a shuttle service that they'd recommend?

Thanks!

Hi,
I don't know where exactly your hotel is in the 6th and how many luggage you are going to carry, but have a look at using the Orlybus to Denfert-Rochereau, then either RER B or a bus (38,68), or metro.

A taxi will be about 40 euros max. I don't mind paying for a cab when arriving after a long flight.

The Air France bus to Montparnasse or les Invalides is 11.50€. Add in a métro ticket to the 6th (1.80€) and you will probably come to the conclusion that this is not as expensive as a taxi (my estimate to Paris, 30€ to 35€) but more expensive than the RER which will cost 10.80€ (via Antony using the OrlyVal).

The best way is taxi, particularly if there are more than one of you. The taxi is probably the fastest from baggage claim to your hotel and takes out all of the unknowns with trying to find your destination in a new city.

Somebody arriving at Orly is rarely arriving from a long flight, so fatigue should not be an issue. The 6th does have several corners, so you might want to take the Air France bus to Montparnasse or the RER B (via Orlyval) to Luxembourg or Saint Michel.
