Orangerie closed??

I heard that the Orangerie in Paris was going to be closed all through 2000!! Can anyone confirm this? If true, why?

I think it was scheduled to re-open in early 2000, it's been closed for most of 1999.

We were in Paris 10/15 thru 10/21 and it was closed with the exception of one or two room. The Monet murals were open. Better check.

Don't worry...

L'Orangerie is overrated.

:-)

The L'Orangerie is closed for renovations until 2002 I believe. however, the basement rooms where Monet's Water Lilies are are open until January 2000, then they close as well.

Even if Monet's waterlillies are all that are open, make effort (particularly if you are a lover of Monet as I am). They really are spectacular -- words don't describe!
