Opinions on 3 Hotels, Please

Has anyone ever stayed at any of these three hotels which I am considering:

Morgan House - 120 Ebury St

Jenkins Hotel - 45 Cartwright Gardens St.

Margaret's Hotel - 26 Bedford Place

Thanks. SS

Did you know that St. Margaret's has closed down? They have a different location with a different name, that has rooms with no ensuite bathrooms. This was due to an unfortunate landlord difficulty.

Morgan House is close to Victoria Station, I can tell that much.

Did you read the reviews on Tripadvisor?

Just want to make sure you're not confusing Morgan House (near Victoria) with Morgan Hotel (in Bloomsbury). The latter gets good reviews here.

When will you be traveling? If you're going in August, you may want to consider a hotel with A/C.

Sounds like neither Morgan House nor JEnkins has elevator - would that be a problem for you?

Lastly, if you're gonna be staying for a week (based on your other post), I think you'll be better off renting a flat instead of hotels.

My sister & her daughter stayed at Morgan House a few months ago. She said it was ok. No lift, but there was someone to carry their bags. They loved the breakfast, she said it held them until evening. The location was good, near Victoria station. I think the only problem they had was when several friends came by to get them for dinner one evening, there was no reception room or lobby for guests.

We'll be there Oct 7-14, so, hopefully air conditioning won't be a problem. In 2006 we were there in late October and the weather was really great...60's every day...great walking weather.

ssander:

You may have come across my comments on the Jenkins in another thread...in answer to a poster who will be staying at The Jenkins...

>>>Just returned two weeks ago, stayed on Cartwright Gardens crescent, nearly next door to The Jenkins (Hotel George), across from the park. Very nice location..a real neighborhood feel. Walking toward the Russell Square tube along Marchmont Street, there are cafes, very good pubs (Lord Balfour, Lord Cornwallis, etc.) Indian, Chinese, a very clean launderette..and a new shopping mall (Brunswick) across the street from the tube station.
You'll like the area, I'm sure.
Wanna "beat" the $ vs. £...try the GBM (Gourmet Burger Market) in the aforesaid mall. The excellent enormous burgers can feed two...at £8. Also a sushi bar and other possibiities in that outdoor mall.

One block west of the tube, there is a convenient bus stop (#7 will take you to Mayfair along Oxford Street, Marble Arch and Hyde Park.<<

In short, I would recommend this Bloomsbury location very highly.
