Opera: RIGOLETTO or NABUCCO?

I will be going to the opera for the first time in Prague.
The 2 operas that I can choose from are Rigoletto or Nabucco. Which one would be best?

I thought Nabucco was kind of boring so I recommend Rigoletto for a first opera. I haven't seen it, but I've heard the CD with the very popular aria La Donne e Mobile. Rigoletto will for sure be more fun.

When I was in Prague a few years ago I saw the ballet Giselle. It was a great experience to see a performance in Europe.

I would recommend Rigoletto. We've seen it in San Francisco and it was great. We attended the opera "Tosca" in Prague last September and it was wonderful.

Donna

No doubt about it -- Rigoletto.

Nabucco is great piece, but it is more difficult. For first try in opera - definitely Rigoletto. It easier and you will recognize famouse melodies.
