opera cadet in paris

Has anyone stayed at this establishment recently? If so, or if you know of it, could you please help with some background info, it is so hard to judge off a website. Many thanks!

I stayed there 2 years ago. Its a standard tourist hotel. Its small like all Paris Hotels but its well located. There is a fantastic chocolate shop down the street from the hotel. I wouldn't say its a great of special hotel but the price is right.

Dear Elessar,
I am also staying at the Opera Cadet in August, as part of a package. I have read all the posts re: this hotel and hope I will enjoy it. I do have a question I haven't seen answered. This is my first trip to France and I have read that many shops close in August. Will this apply to the market shops near the hotel? I hope not.

I wouldn't worry. I've been to Paris in August and there are so many places to choose from, that if one is closed you can simply go to another. My question for August would be
does this hotel have airconditioning? It can be miserable witihout.

Klondike,
Thanks for your reply. Yes it is airconditioned.
My concern for the markets, is that the hotel notes the convenience of it's pedestrian street with its markets. Imagine my disapointment if all the vendors have closed shop for vacation during my first trip to Paris.

I don't recall this hotel have an a/c unit. Make sure that the rooms have a/c not just that the hotel has a/c. Sometimes only the lobby areas will have a/c.
