Hehe Platzman..:)) I thought this was going to be a discussion on what Martin Luther was wearing during the Diet.. :)) But someone mentioned birkenstocks and I just had to comment..I am all for jeans, or better yet, I am all for wearing what you'd normally wear and feel comfortable and stylish in, and I can even deal with athletic shoes (not a personal preference though). But what I cannot understand or condone, in all my fashion-aware conscience, is allowing ANYONE to wear Birkenstocks. Those things should be classified as a contraceptive in terms of how many people of opposite sex they manage to repel. Also highly correlated is a Birkenstock affecionado with a bad (no) pedicure. Just nasty stuff...I also agree that shorts should be banned for women.... Interestingly, especially egregious examples of both faux-pas above tend to be assorted Northern Europeans and not Americans..

Too funny! and so true, including the "pedicure problem", yuk...sometimes I wonder if those people walk around dropping off chunks of their heels behind them as they walk away.

I surrender!

Please by all means wear your jeans and trainers,

Deciding what to wear should be no brainers.

If you have any class, you shouldn't have to ask,

And these inane threads would be strangers!

Not take athletic shoes?? Absurd! In recent years, I have been going to Europe (2x to Paris) to run marathons there. You can tell all the athletes in town because they're all wearing their running shoes....with jeans, slacks, shorts, whatever. My sister, who is quite sedentary, wore athletic shoes and was often asked if she was running the marathon, too! She would crack up at the mistake but at the same time I think she felt complimented that people thought she was a marathoner.

Wear what makes you feel good! Locals wear jeans in every country....

Shanna, no I don't live in Miami. I think you are the person who emailed me about travelling to India????

My jeans never look frumpy. Of course, I buy them at the Co/Op at BarneysNY.

Not everyone buys their jeans at Sears, sweetie.
