Open Jaw

Hope to visit Italy Sep 15 - Sep 29. How do I find open-jaw flights? Using Orbitz etc. but can't book flight from foreign city back to US. One-way seems expensive. Bags are packed ... need help.

Hi Nano,
Your trip plans overlap ours (Sept. 16 - 26). Not sure where you're departing from, but we got very decently priced open jaw tickets on TAP Portugal. Departing from Newark, we fly into Venice and out of Rome -- $572 r/t per person. I booked a couple months ago, so not sure these fares exist anymore.
Maybe if you provide more info -- where you're coming from, where you want to fly in and out of, etc -- we can provide more detailed advice.
Good luck!

On Orbitz, choose the Flights tab (or if you're viewing the Quick Search , click on Expand Search Options at bottom of search box), then click on Multi-City at top.

Other booking engines also have similar multi-city options, usually not hard to find.

You're welcome.

Using orbitz or expedia, click on the tab for "flights", then click on the button for "multi city". You can then enter a different return city.

Open jaw is not two one-way tickets - it's just a multi-city itinerary. That's what you need to click on for any of the search sites.

We have open jaw tickets to Italy Sept. 14-Oct. 1. We searched for options on Expedia, Travelocity, etc. and then, when we found the best itinerary and fare, called Air France and saved about $28 per ticket by making reservations directly with them. I believe our fare is $654 from Dulles to Milan and from Florence. Be sure to use the "multicity" option for a true open jaw flight.

You don't really "find" open jaw flights. Your question sounds as if you expect predetermined open jaw flights to be listed for you.

Instead, you invent and develop your own open jaw trip from the available options on any of the websites that people have already named. I just didn't want anyone to read your question and assume that preset open-jaw flights are available (other than in certain tours).

Hi nan,

At http://airtravelcenter.com/onetrav.htm
click "multi-city".

They are often cheaper than Orbitz.

Funny someone mentioned Air France.I gave up the computer and went to the phone and got NY to Rome; Venice to NY for $654. Round trip from Rome was $615. (This is for Oct.) I am so greatful for the "open jaw" sugggestion.

I'm having the same problem!

Most websites are biased to round trip (business people) flights. You often have to look hard the page for Open Jaw. It is often labeled multi-city. On some of the popular websites, I have yet to find the multi-city pages.

I have the Delta open jaw page in my favorites.

I am not endorsing or promoting Delta.

My November trip is on Air France:Newark to CDG to Florence and return from Venice to CDG to Newark. The connection in Paris is 1 hr (I've done this before and the hour was enough time)I booked the tickets in April for $515!

I usually get on the phone direct to the airlines for open jaw tickets.

I price a normal RT ahead of time to have an idea what the price should be.
