We did the evening segway tour which was so cool - you will have a blast. ask for a helmet if you have any trepidation about riding - we had a lady in our group who crashed during the training routine, needed stitches and had to stay back. If you have some time, try to fit in 20 minutes or so at the memorial deportation - its just behind notre dame and worth the time.

Hey Travel Buddy--
Hope DH enjoys his first trip to Paris as much as we did in February! I can't wait to read your trip report, since the one you wrote from our trip was so great. And please, you MUST post pictures of you and DH on your Segway tour.

I love the Île St-Louis, too! Although you might find a lot of tourists on the western half of the rue St-Louis-en-l'Île (and particularly around Berthillon, and why not, it's great glâce!) and on the western tip where the favored cafés are (Le Flore en l'Île), just walking along the quais or on the eastern half of it will yield peace & serenity - that village-like calm that is so talked about.

Second trip we walked past St-Louis church & there was no one down there. Then we walked along the quai d'Orleans and the only people we saw was a family in a Mercedes van backing out of their driveway (cleverly disguised with 2 huge beautiful blue doors).

I know if I ever hit the lottery the 1st thing I'd do would be to buy an apt. here.

Yes, Cigalechanta, I will be in Paris 1st 2 weeks of February. I have the tickets and the new digital camera & iPod are ready to go!! Wow, 16 whole days in Paris, I can't believe it!!

The Île St-Louis is supposed to be particularly quiet during the winter season and I've read that Le Flore en l'Île takes on a homey & familial atmosphere with so few tourists around. I look forward to it.
