Onetravel.com

So I thought I had tickets booked to Italy for September through onetravel.com for a decent fare, but I received an e-mail today stating that they were unable to verify the information with the credit card company. I tried calling them and was on hold for 20 minuted before I hung up so I e-mailed them and have heard nothing. The flight was with British Airways so I went to their site and they listed the reservation. Has anyone had succes with this company? What should I do now?

Thanks.

Hi crystal,

When did you book the tickets?

Did you give them the correct CC info?

Have you called BA to confirm that you do want the tickets and are having a problem with the ticket agent?

I booked yesterday. I did give them the right card information. The card is with a local credit union, who by the way I work for in the VISA debit card department. I tried another credit card today and received the same e-mail. I will try calling British Airways.

Thanks.

Hi crystal,

Also call your CC companies. Find out why the TA is having trouble.

any other experiences? A coworker found a great fare to Singapore but is hesitant to book it.

I used them to book my tix to Italy last June. Worked out fine in the end, but just note that just because you receive a confirmation email that says your request has been submitted does NOT mean you have tickets. (You have to wait for a second email to confirm processing which can take a day or two.) I did not realize this when I received my first email, and panicked when I got an email saying that there was in fact no availability (since my TC - who was coming from a different city - had thus gone ahead and purchased his tix). This was my fault for not reading the fine print, but it is somewhat misleading. Luckily, a few days later there was more availability (it is my understanding that they only offer a few seats at a time, so an unavailable flight may be available a few days later) and it all worked out. The tickets came with no problem, and I had no problem with the flights. I would use them again, but make sure to read everything very carefully. (They did offer SUBSTANTIAL savings - $505 to Italy at the end of June - everything else was closer to $700.)

Thanks KikiLee,
she decided to go book directly with United.

I booked tickets to Cabo San Lucas last Ocober through onetravel.com with no problem at all. They had the best fare by about $25.00.

I just booked tickets to Hawaii in December and literally saved THOUSANDS of dollars off First Class fares.
They routinely check your CC info with the issuer and they say that quite CLEARLY on their website.
I'd use them again in a heartbeat.

I've been using Onetravel.com for about two years now. I can tell you this, partic. if you are shopping packages to Central America or Mexico, they will have rates that are $200 or more below all the other companies who are offering the same package. They're one of the first companies I turn to for low fares to Europe and to hotel/air packages elsewhere-I've also dealt with them live, and they were unfailingly helpful-I've nothing but positive things to say about them.
