One week in Spain
My wife and I live in Casablanca and will be driving to Spain and then onto France. I think we will have a total week to explore Spain as we travel to France and back again. (We will be heading to Madrid in November). Any suggestions? We tend to like villages and non-touristy places. Thanks in advance. Randy

Since you are only planning on spending one week and depending on the time of year, you may want to head first to Sevilla and then up to Extremadura (Zafra, Mérida, Cáceres, Trujillo) and then north to Salamanca, Zamora and León, before crossing into Green Spain and heading toward France along the coast.
One week isn't very long so you will have to plan your trip carefully. It's a very long drive. |
Hola
Yes another vote for Salamanca (although its not a village) and Trujillo. Cuenca is a bit touristy but its quaintness makes it bearable. Stay here - http://www.posadasanjose.com |
I recommend four villages to visit at the northern Spain coast: Ribadesella, San Vicente de la Barquera, Castro Urdiales and Hondarribia.

I vote for Robert2533 suggerstion.

Although we live in Galicia, so the North would get our vote normally. However as you only have a week we also suggest you keep your visit confined to the south. That way you can see more of Spain other than from a main road.
