One week in Milan and vicinity

Hi All
About the first of April will have a week in the Milan area. I would a appreciate suggestions as to how
to spend the time. Will probably rent a car. Two of our group of 5 have difficulty walking so cinque terre
is out of the question - that is walking b between towns.
Thinking about Lake Como and Tuscany in general. Interested in food, wine, art and scenery.
All suggestions appreciated.
Thanks

Lake Como is an easy trip from Milan (so is Lago Maggiore, which we much prefer), but Tuscany is a bit of a stretch for such a short trip, and flying into Milan wouldn't be ideal for that. Not to mention that a lot of Tuscan towns involve hiking because you can't drive or park a car in the center but rather have to haul yourselves on foot up to the center. Not true for all of Tuscany, but enough that it's a consideration.

Almost everyone is interested in food, wine, art, and scenery. A few more specifics would be helpful.

Milan itself has a whole lot to offer, plus there are countless fascinating nearby towns to explore (but renting a car to do so wouldn't be necessary at all to enjoy them)

Are trains doable for someone that needs a cane to walk?

I really liked Turin. The larger stations should have elevators, otherwise you are stuck with stairs.

Some stations have elevators or escalators, but not in small towns normally. OTOH, you can request assistance from the train company if you need it, and actually getting on and off the trains is not a problem for people with canes.
