One way ticket

My DH has found some wonderful repositioning cruises from Fl.to Europe. They sound interesting but how to we deal with a plane ticket from Lisbon to fl. one way? Can you use FF miles to get a deal? The cruise is super reasonable, but I'm afraid the air $ would kill us! Help!

Doesn't the cruise line have deals with any air carrier?

I guess I kinda always thought that they did.

Best wishes,

Rex

I have friends who do repositioning cruises from Florida to Europe every year, and they always book great one way flights home through the cruise line.

Buy a round trip and throw out the return -- its usually much cheaper to purchase a round trip than a one-way ticket. The airlines will be upset but that's the price they pay for such a screwy pricing system.

Try the cruise line, also check out Aer Lingus - http://www.aerlingus.com - who offer cheap one-ways both within Europe and transatlantic.

Thanks for the info on air lingus and letting me know about the cruise line air deals. I had heard that cruise lines couldn't compete with web site air deals. I guess that only is true when you're dealing with round trip air.
