One rail or train pass for Spain
Is there like one pass or ticket that i could buy or use for the rail or train just for traveling within Spain? Like if i wanted to go from Barcelona to other cities within Spain instead of having to buy multiple tickets or make several reservations for tickets to each city i will travel to. I would think that would be so convenient for the traveler and the rail /train.

it's usually cheaper to get a discount fare online. Some of the trains may still require a supple, even after the pass. I am not familiar with the details of a pass but unless you are traveling quite a bit I think you will find the discounted ( -40%,- 60%) tickets a better deal.

All medium and long distance trains require reservations, there is no open seating, so a rail pass is not as good as purchasing individual tickets (in advance if possible), but you will need to make a plan and stick to it.

Thanks for the info.

There is certainly no value in a rail pass from any agency, if planning and dealing direct with the national rail company - I give you a concise guide to use of the RENFE site and purchasing discounted tickets - http://tiny.cc/0gpnv and another which covers all known problems - http://tiny.cc/5ynb6

With a pass, you still need to make a reservation and pay a 6-10 euro passholder fee for every medium and long distance train.
There's thus no 'convenience factor' in having a pass, only a financial saving, if any. Passed may save money compared to expensive longer-distance full-price tickets, but will work out more expensive than pre-purchased discounted web or estrella tickets bought at www.renfe.com As the discount tickets mean no changes, no refunds, do you need the flexibility?
