One night in paris
 

I will be spending a night in paris. On my first day i will be arriving around 3pm at my hotel near ecole militaire. I plan to take the metro to notre dame then walk to saint cathedral then walk to louvre then take a seine cruise. Is these feasible? I can walk from these points to poonts? which is the best cruise to take? Can i take a cruise from beside notre dame but alight near eiffel?

Next day i just plan to wander around eiffel tower, maybe go to trocadare? then catch the thalys outward bound at 12 noon.

Your advice please and comments, and if you think i can still squeeze some interesting place of interest like arc de triomphe or rodin museum. Should i buy the carnet? Thanks a lot

It would probably be just as quick to walk to Notre Dame as to take the metro.

I don't know what this is. Could you mean Ste-Chapelle?

There is a Seine cruise that departs from Pont Neuf near Notre Dame. None of the cruise ships stop to let off passengers; they all go in a loop and return to their original location.

I don't see the need to spend money on a carnet when most of the places you're going can be walked to. Buy individual tickets when you need them.

You could do the Rodin Museum garden on your arrival day (if the museum is open that day).

When is your trip? If soon, you will be doing much of the sightseeing the first day in the dark. If that is the case, Ste. Chapelle won't be seen at best advantage. To appreciate the stained glass, the sun should be shining.

You can take a Seine cruise on the Vedettes du Pont Neuf. While you can't get off at the Eiffel Tower, you will see great views of it and other Paris landmarks beautifully lit. If you don't plan to go into the Louvre, go there first and end at Notre Dame which is near the river cruise departure.

My planned trip is on 24 october, what time does it get dark during these days? Will around 4pm be still light enough to appreciate the stained glasses?

Sunset is at 6:45 but it will start to get darker earlier than that. If you go to Ste-Chapelle right away you may be able to see something of the stained glass if it's a sunny day.

The sun sets around 6:30pm on Oct. 24. If it is a sunny day, 4pm might be light enough.
