Hi nochblad, we'll be arriving Geneva the end of September.

As I think more about it, I doubt we would want to take a cable car, or "hike" but I'd love to be somewhere that we could do a nice walk in the morning to enjoy the scenery.

I did find a nice place to stay and eat just outside Cogne

Are there certain times when the Mont Blanc Tunnel is more likely to be backed up?

I think I've decided on Courmayer, it will be less driving then going back the Valley to Cogne.
