So if I read the chart correctly, the driver averaged 92 kmh.

Robespierre, I read a review of "Fatal Purity" Robespierre and the French Revolution by Ruth Scurr. Have you read it?

Big deal. I'd like to see him try this in Rome----he couldn't go two blocks without the scooter driver bodies clogging his wheel wells!

By the way, in Rome the woman would come to him!

What a film!

Rome would be bloody impossible to do in a Ferrari like that, at anytime of morning or night without any deaths resulting!

Utterly irresponsible behavior. The engine and transmission noise turned me off to boot.

My Porsche on the Autobahn - that was driving!

Well, I hope he got it out of his system, because he simply doesn't possess the skill to drive that fast and live very long. Besides missed shifts and lack of torque control, he also didn't know how to manage adhesion, as revealed by the jerky motions of the front wheel in close-up.

Hope he doesn't take out some father of four on his way to work when he dies.

Times and attitudes were different on the roads in 1976 in Europe... they were always known for their fast cars and driving.. re: the autobahns..

..what's the SPEED LIMIT these days in on the AUTOBAHNS??

The lamebrain stunt in Stockholm was in 2000, according to the film.

Hundreds of miles of Autobahn without speed limits remain.

Thanks, Carta_Pisana for posting this link. It put a big smile on DH's face!

MERV: There really is no speed limit on "much" of the autobahn, which specifically is in Germany... I've heard it's political suicide to suggest otherwise.
