One last hotel to book...please help!
 

I promise...I did a search and still dont have enough info after reading previous threads. You all have been so amazing.

I am trying to decide on a hotel/B&B in Cinque Terra. I am pretty sure I want to stay in Monterooso. Villa Steno looks great but I would like to find something a bit less expesive (135 euro a night).

Please give me your suggestions!!

I will try to say this politely as I know how... could you please consider re-posting and give some clue as to where you are seeking a hotel in the message header?

It's attention-grabbing to post such a non-descript header and results in hundreds of people who wonder what you are asking about - - and does not permit anyone to take a look at, or bypass your post, based on interest in your question or having information that you seek.

We stayed in a B&B (actually there was no breakfast) in Vernazza. The man who owns the room (there were three rooms on the side of the hill up above the train station) is Giuliano Basso, email address is [email protected]. The rooms were great - new and had a wonderful deck/patio overlooking Vernazza and the ocean. It was great! The price was also great - 62E per night - in October of 2002. The only negative was the climb up the side of hill - quite a few steps! There is a website: http://www.cdh.it/giuliano/

Look at Villa Margherita in Levanto.

The Cinque Terra is wonderful. We were there in October. All the people we had email addresses for were booked before we went so we just went to Vernazza and asked around. It was funny. We asked in one store and they said they didn't have anything so that person led us to another person who led us to another person who had a lovely room past the train station. It didn't have a view but it was immaculate and only E50. The C-5 was the only area we didn't book in advance so finding the room was our little adventure. It was Oct., so off season. I would stay in Vernazza. That way you can see the sunset over the ocean every night and have a delicious meal at one of the great restaurants in the little square.

During a two-week vacation in Europe this past summer, my wife and I spent two nights at Villa Steno. It honestly was the best part of the whole trip--very nice comfortable facilities, but better yet, the nicest friendliest staff you could imagine. It's worth the price.
