One Day in Umbria
 

If you only had one day in Umbria which town (s) would you visit?

A no-brainer- ASSISI.

Well, Assisi if you wanted to get your fill of sights, but I'd actually spend it in Perugia, where there's a good deal more of a mix of things to see and do.

orvieto gets my vote. do not miss the seige well and other sights

It would depend on the time of year, whether I had a car, who was with me, where I was coming from, and where I was going to next -- and why I was traveling around Italy.

Of all the places I've seen in Umbria, the ones I'd most like to see again are the Piano Grande and Perugia
