One Day in London

While in Paris for one week at the end of April 2008, we will be taking the train to London on a Sunday, returning late on the Monday to Paris. What can we see as first time London tourists in the short time we have??

You could get the hop-on hop-off tourist bus to get an overview of the main sights from outside, and get off at any you think you have time to tour.

The H-o-H-o bus caroline mentions is great - but otherwise we really can't really help you w/o knowing what sorts of things you enjoy. There are literally hundreds of things you could do. Which you should do depends . . . .

Click on DESTINATIONS at the top of this page and read up on London, then let us know what sorts of things sound good to you.

You could choose one 'London Walks' guided walking tour from their long list and perhaps one other big attraction, maybe the London Eye or the Tower or a museum. I spotted this on the London Walks website, it may suit you:

WHISTLE STOP TOURS
If you have only a few hours in London, a London Cabbie-Guide is perfect. David or Danny or Paul or Len or Alan collects you from your hotel in his black cab and gives you and your party a half day "whistle stop" tour of London's highlights. And for good measure, after the tour he'll take you to wherever you'd like to go in central London. Or how about this? If it's your last day in London, you could book David or Paul or Len or Danny or Alan for "a grand send off" - i.e., a Whistle Stop Tour and then afterwards they can take you and your luggage right to the airport! Can't be bad!! For further details, please contact (see web address above).

And how much does the cab tour cost ? Several hundred pounds, presumably !
