One Day in London

Two of the TN Trio of Terror group are going to be in Paris for 10 days. Our 3rd trip. We want to do a one day visit to London on the Eurostar.

Here's the problem: what should we do in London? I'm thinking Victoria and Albert Museum, a little strolling around and eating. Any suggestions. Haven't been to London since the 80's so have no idea of what to expect anymore.

"what should we do in London?" What do you want to do? I'm not being flip - it is a legitimate question. You can do museums - V&A, or British, or National Gallery. You can take a boat trip on the Thames and visit the Tower. You can "fly the Eye" and stroll past Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, through the parks, and to Trafalgar Square. You can shop and/or have a great meal. You can take an open top sightseeing bus. There are hundreds of things you could do.

What sorts of things do you enjoy?

I think going to the V&A could be fun. You'd be in a good location for exploring. If shopping is your thing you could pop over to Harrod's. I personally wasn't thrilled with Harrod's, but it is a big tourist attraction. You could also explore King's Road (shopping) and the Cheyne Walk (lots of pretty homes) and the Royal Hospital. I think it could be a fun day!

Could go to Lords, when is the trip?

If your group is the type that likes to do a blitz, er, whirlwind tour of a location, then a hop-on/hop-off bus tour might be a consideration. This allows you to see a lot of sights, spending more time at some (hop off) and just driving by others.

On the other hand, if your group likes strolling, taking in some sights, enjoying parks, etc. you might want to consider a walk in the area around St. James's and Green Parks, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace. In a relatively compact area, you can walk and see some of London's best.

Enjoy!

We love museums AND shopping. The hop off /hop on bus is a great idea. I've been to London twice but my friend has not. She loves art so maybe we should concentrate on museums.

Just wondered if anyone else had done this one day thing and if they had a great plan for it.

Thanks.
