One City all inclusive package

Hello All,

I am not over on the Europe board much. But after dragging my wife across East Aftrica for a month, she wants our next vacation to be a simple few days in one city in Europe.

I remember United used to have these great deals that included airfare and 5 nights in a tourist/economy level hotel. Does anyone out there have any other recommended companies? We don't need a day to day tour guide. Most things we will do on our own or just hire someone locally.

Cities we are looking at (I think in order of pref):

Rome
Prague
Barcelona
Madrid
Paris
London

Less likely, but if you know about it please share info:
Moscow / St. Petersburg
Bulgaria
Austria
Berlin

Hi W,

All the airlines promote flight/hotel package deals, as do Orbitz, Expedia and Travelocity.

For Prague, Vienna, Berlin and combinations thereof (plus other cities), try Paul Laifer Tours. www.laifertours.com. I used them to get air/hotel/transfer for Prague/Vienna in late 2004 and was very happy with them.

All of the airlins offer these independent packages (usually air, airport transfers and hotel). Dpeending on budget you might also want to try AMEX or some of the more upscale tour conpanies (they do these as well as excorted tours).

However, they really don;t save you a lot (or any) money, you're stuck with their choice of hotels - and they can still change them at the last moment.

For one city - why not just book it yourself?
