once in a lifetime trip :)
hi everyone! my friend and i will be travelling to Europe and we've narrowed down our itinerary to the following places
Paris,Prague,Vienna(maybe salzburg),Venice,Milan,Florence,Rome can you advice us on how to go about our trip? we are open in taking budget airlines, trains we are allocating 26 days in our trip, i know its a bit tight but since we live in southeast asia which is quite far from Europe we'd rather see as much as we can but still enjoy our trip :) is that doable? thanks in advance! :) |
You could easily take trains to all those locations in 26 days... you probably won't even need to pull out the budget airline option. Maybe slash Milan from that list if you are running low on time. Rome Prague and Paris will probably consume the most time in my opinions. I don't think you'll have any problem at all fitting those cities into 26 days. Take night trains when needed. You'll have a great time :)

I'd fly between Paris and Prague. Smartwings and SkyEurope have cheap flights.
Sounds like a nice itinerary ! |
Hi al,
Nice trip. My suggestion is: Fly to Paris - 5 days Fly Paris ORY to Rome CIA on Easyjet (abt 40E) - 5 days, Train to Florence - 4 days Train to Venice - 3 days Train to Vienna: This takes all day, but you get lovely views going over the Alps) - 4 days in Vienna Train to Prague - 4 days Fly home See www.whichbudget.com for discount airfare. See www.treitalia.com for schedules, prices and tickets for trains in and from Italy. See http://www.oebb.at/vip8/oebb/de/ for trains in and from Austria. Enjoy your visit. ((I)) |
Ira's train link is missing a letter. www.trenitalia.com

ira suggests a great itinerary.
You could also take a day from Prague and another from Vienna, maybe one more day from somewhere else, and add in 2-3 days in Salzburg, or another stop in Italy perhaps--Siena, Orvieto, Como. |
Thanks for all of your suggestions :)
feel free to post any additional advice :) |
Hi! By any chance, where in South east asia do you come from?
|
i'll be coming from the Philippines :)

I think 4 days is too long for Firenze unless you are a museum hound. I am a museum hound, but most people aren't.
I would add that day to Venice. |
