On the day tickets on Virgin trains
Hello,
Virgin trains is advertising cheap tickets an hour before departure. Does anyone have experience with this please? I'm considering going to Liverpool but can't book ahead as my schedule is quite fluid. It would be great to just turn up and buy a ticket. Any thoughts?
Thanks a lot

You can always buy the expensive Off-Peak & Anytime fares, with unlimited availability and fixed prices.
But on Virgin Trains, Advance fares with limited availability and dynamic pricing are available even an hour or two ahead on the same day. On most operators, they have to be booked by the previous day.
So go to www.virgintrains.co.uk, put in today's date, select one hour's time and see what sort of prices you get if you needed to go right now. No point asking others if you can see for yourself! ;0)
