Omnia Pass/ Roma Pass

Hello,

I am considering purchasing a roma pass or an omnia pass. Has anyone had experience with either of these? I understand that I would still need to schedule my visit to the Coliseum and the Vatican. Is this difficult to do online?

TIA,
Pam

The Omnia Pass is very overpriced, and some of the benefits they list are things that are free anyway. It includes everything the Roma Pass includes plus the Vatican Museums and some other religious sites.

The Roma Pass is worthwhile if you'll be visiting several of the more expensive museums/archaeological sites and travelling a lot by public transportation.

If you're just going to the Vatican Museums and the Colosseum, it would be better to just order those entrances and whatever tours, if any, you might want, from their official websites. (The passes just include entrance, not guided tours.)

They may not work if you are planning a last-minute visit. Because you must make an extra reservation.
Roma pass is not valid in Vatican Museums.

The Omnia Pass is very overpriced.

If it's a last-minute trip, it would take you all of about 20 minutes to reserve both the Colosseum and the Vatican Museums. The Roma Pass is a much better deal, but most people don't visit enough places to make even that pass pay off. If you visit the Colosseum/Roman Forum/Palatine Hill site, and about two other national or city museums (excluding the Vatican Museums), and use public transportation a good deal, then the Roma Pass is probably worth it. If not, just reserve the Colosseum and the Vatican Museums online and play the rest by ear.
