Olympic Flame in Paris
An item on the 'Secrets of Paris' calendar tells us this:
<> Friday June 25 The Olympic Flame will be passing through Paris on its way to the 2004 Summer Games in Athens this August. The route will cover every one of the 20 Parisian arrondissements, with events in each neighborhood to welcome the Flame. There will be 137 relay runners, many of them top athletes and French entertainment personalities like singer MC Solaar and director Claude Lelouche. The route starts at the Stade de France at noon and ends at the Eiffel Tower at 8pm. Information available the week of the event at the Hôtel de Ville (or look here for the schedule, in French: http://fr.news.yahoo.com/040514/226/3su31.html). http://www.secretsofparis.com/calendar.htm |

Question from the Olympic Torch:
Waht is the cheapest, fastest, most economical way to get from Antwerp to Nicosia? Should I rent a car? Am I trying to do too much? Please critique my itinerary. |
I think the Torch is moving around too much, just checking off cities on a list. "Been there, done that" and so on.
Everyone knows that you should stay at least 2 nights in a city to get a feel for it. Get an apartment, no wait, a hotel so you can see how the locals live. That Torch must be very wealthy, to have private transportation for all those places. I wonder if the Torch's friends or relatives ever make disparaging remarks about its travels. And, I just don't understand how the Torch gets past the airport security, I mean that Richard guy was JUST lighting his match and they jumped all over him. |
