Interesting to note that Boom Chicago's pot coverage also says coffeeshops were legalized by the Mayor of Amsterdam in 1996 - legal - so many folks insist that coffeeshops aren't legal, but tolerated - true in the rest of Holland but in Amsterdam they are legal. This is also the world the City of Amsterdam's Historical Museum's display on coffeeshops calls it - pointing to the 1996 legalisation of cannabis inside the shops by the Mayor.

Selling cannabis in coffeeshops is LEGAL!

Boom Chicago has a very popular show - this American-owned comedy troupe's shows in their theatre on the Leidesplein draws many Europeans who laugh at the self-deprecating comedy of American culture and politics.

NHSandy- The twinkie comment is too much. I mean, seriously. That is the funniest thing I have read on this forum. And I am not even high!

Being a Betty Boop fan, I enjoyed a little place called Betty Too in a nice area at Reguliersdwarsstraat 29...friendly, laid back, clean, nice music, cozy upstairs room that overlooks the street and offers a computer with reasonable Internet rates.
