Oktoberfest in Berlin?

Does anyone have any information on the "Oktoberfest" that Berlin holds?

I've found a few articles online but most seem to be in German & do not give a lot of information. I'm just looking on some opinions & if it's worth attending.

Thanks!

Oktoberfest in Berlin is more like a big county fair in the US - or any bigger US Oktoberfest.
It runs from Sep 27-Oct 13 on the central fairgrounds near Tegel airport.
You have one big tent like at the original one in Munich (where you have 10 or more of those huge tents that seat several K people). And the typical food and beers from Bavaria.
If you like that kinda stuff, it should be fun to spend a few hours there or just go for a beer or two in the evening. But if your schedule is tight and you have lots of other things on your list, I would not plan my vacation around it.
Several venues in Berlin also "observe" Oktoberfest, like the Berlin Hofbräuhaus or a couple of the city's beer gardens.

Oktoberfest is Berlin is just as much an imported fake as any "Octoberfest" in the US or Australia. This festival is not a German thing, it is a Munich thing. Berlin isn't Bavaria.

In all fairness one should that even the real big thing in Munich is as fake as any between Chattanooga and Brisbane ;-)

My most recent Oktoberfest experience reminded me of a state fair in the US, but with more drunk Australians.

I have a hunch that the people who have the most fun at Oktoberfest are Germans who know the words to all those songs.

On my first visit (in my youth) I was still suffering a hangover from my first (and last) weinfest experience, so I drank only half a bier. On my second visit, in my middle age, I had become a non-drinker, so I enjoyed it even less than I had on my first visit.

Lots of oompah bands and drunk Yanks and Aussies.

I forgot to say that my experiences were in Munich.
