OK, Butler's restaurant looks old fashioned---where to have Dover Sole?
 

Butler's was recommended here on Fodors but it looks like it's for the "older set." As our GD loves Dover sole, anyone have an alternative for June?

if you book through Toptable.com, you can get special deals on lunch Saturday and Sunday (but not on the Dover Sole, which is £39).

Go to Scotts in Mount Street if you can get a table. They have it grilled or meuniere, but don't know if they fillet it at the table. They have a few tables outside that are popular - when I walked past a few months ago, mid winter, Charles Saatchi was having lunch there (not with Nigella).

Afterwards you can take your GD shopping at Balenciaga next door :-). Or Jenny Packham, a favorite of the Duchess of Cambridge. It's a wonderful street for (window) shopping.

Here in Italy, it's a fish prepared for old people, invalids, and babies, because it has a reputation of being very easy to digest. It's not a plate I'd expect to find in a trendy restaurant, but maybe it doesn't have that reputation in the UK.

I love it, but I usually prepare it at home.

TPAYT, You are really trying to make this a trip she will remember, lucky to have a Grandma like you. I am sure she will love tea somewhere, I would love tea somewhere. You have a good time planning and will enjoy reading your trip report. They are always interesting.
