OK - I'm really going now....
All right people - I leave for the airport in 2 hours. I'm sure you will all miss me hahahahaha.
Here's what I posted last night (no response either, so that's why I'm posting a new thread. Need a sendoff!)
Message: One more sleep... I leave Friday at 8 pm PT for London. My little sis is flying from a separate city and is supposed to land 5 minutes after I do (haha - we'll see!). We'll meet up, then spend 10 nights in London, with day trips to Sissinghurst, the Cotswolds and Kew/Richmond.
Then on August 31st, after the Olympics are safely over and most of the cleanup done, I head to Athens to meet up with my husband (yippee - I have missed him so, so much), who will be finishing a long hard 7 weeks of work on the TV broadcasts. After 2 days in Athens, we head to Santorini for a week, then have a week in Mykonos before returning home.
An enormous thank you to all the folks on this board who have offered such wonderful advice. I have gathered a wealth of information from this forum, thanks to the generosity of all the people who have given so generously of their expertise.
A big thank you to Mr. Ben Haines.
And a special thanks to those who have been so sympathetic to my concerns about stray cats and dogs in Greece - it is heatening to know that there are so many caring people out there!
If I manage to survive the withdrawal from Fodors.com and get home in one piece, I will post a trip report upon my return in mid-September

taggie, have a wonderful time! I'm so jealous! Can't wait for your trip report when you get back.
Cotswolds are so beautiful! Eat Worchestershire Pie at the Crown & Trumpet Pub for me! Greece should be fabulous too post-olympics!
Safe travels! Trish

Thank you very much. I bought a special notebook this morning... we'll see how good I am at keeping up with the note-taking.
M_kingdom, my husband has been in Athens for 4 weeks now. He really likes it; although he was a bit shell-shocked by it at first, he says the city has really grown on him. I will only be there for 3 nights total but am looking forward to checking out the Kolonaki area.
