Oia to Thira airport

We are thinking of booking a flight back to Athens that leaves at 7:25 am, but may be staying in Oia.
Can someone tell me how long it takes to get to the airport and suggest modes of transportation that early in the morning, also how early would you arrive at the airport?
Thanks

Your hotel can arrange for a taxi to pick you up in Oia. I've caught that early plane before, was picked up in Oia about 5:30, made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare. The ride in a taxi takes about 35 minutes. Last time I did it the fare was 20 Euro. Often the hotels charge a fee for setting this up, calling it a "transfer," sometimes using their own vehicle and driver and sometimes having a standing arrangement with a particular taxi driver. If that's the case it'll probably cost you at least 5-10 Euro more. Tipping isn't necessary.

We are also considering this early flight....it arrives in Athens at 8:10 and we are trying to connect to a 9:00 flight to Rome (all on Aegean) HELP! Can we do it?

That would be extremely risky, I don't think I'd normally ever try it except as a last resort. I have made tighter connections, and since you're going all the way on Aegean and they will be checking your bags through AND assuming your Santorini>Athens flight is on time AND you were issued your Athens>Rome boarding passes on Santorini, it _might_ work. Are you sure you want to risk it? Before you decide, I suggest you send an email to Aegean to express your concerns and see what they have to say.
