Oia Hotels

I am traveling to Santorini the first week of April (off-season). I am looking into Kallisti Villa but can't find many reviews because it is a new hotel. I am a solo traveler though so any tips on a good hotel for me would be helpful! I am also considering staying in Fira instead. Is it busy and touristy even during the off-season?

Thanks!

Kallisti isn't actually all that new, but it's sort of an unknown commodity because it doesn't get much attention. Oia will be very quiet the first week of April, there might not be much open yet. It might be a better idea to focus your search on Fira and Firostefani and visit Oia on the bus. Fira will be the busiest spot on the island, but it will still be fairly quiet then, as most shops won't be open until after Greek Easter, April 19.

Thanks! Any word on Aspa Villas? That is my top choice right now... I have moved on from Kallisti due to the lack of info and reviews! Aspa Villas is in Oia as well. I keep going back and forth between cities so I think I will just base it on my hotel choice.

Also if anyone knows... I am considering renting a scooter for a day or two while there, but read one comment that the roads are very dangerous. Any comments on this? Specifically during this off season time when the island is quieter?

Thanks!

Aspa's a good choice for a budget hotel. Although it'll be too cold to use the pool you're close to a market and a restaurant, and the view from the pool deck or the upstairs rooms facing the caldera are great.
