Oia Hotels
Hi Brotherleelove!! I was just trying to make a decision on what hotel to go with. I am not super impressed with the Casa Francesca anymore, I really want to stay on the cliff in Oia with an ocean view. Which would you stay at for the most romantic spot, with the best view and good rooms, but still staying in the low to mid hundreds per night.
Amoudi Villas Delfini or Volcano Villas (I have emailed them with no responce, and this is a little more that I want to pay) |
You might also want to check Esperas -- fantastic view and great rooms.
Delfini has a very nice location in center of Oia also with a very nice view. They have a lovely rooftop terrace with a couch that I always admired as I walked by. |
Esperas looks great but a little to pricey for us. Thanks for the tip!

Casa Francesca is just a basic room away from the caldera view. I can understand why you've lost interest.
Amoudi Villas are very nice but you have to be willing to walk up and down all the steps or rent a car to drive up and down the road to Amoudi. The caldera view is limited there because it's tucked away down low on the cliffside below Oia. It's still a good option, though. Delfini is in the heart of the village. I have admired the couch on the rooftop terrace as well, and have actually availed myself of it late at night to sit and watch the stars. Volcano's Villas has a pool, although it's not heated, and is only a 15 minute stroll into the center of Oia, probably the most well-rounded of the three. I like the location of Delfini more, but in August the pool at VV would be a bonus, so it's a hard choice. For me budget is always a big consideration, so I guess overall I'd choose Delfini. |
Thanks, your the best. Does Delfini have close public transportation, because we are not planning on renting a car (at least we have not considered it so far, should we?)

Oia is a small village. You can easily walk to the main bus square or you can flag down the bus anywhere along the road. From the entrance to Delfini to the road is only about 2 minutes' walk.
Santorini's bus system is very good, a rental car isn't a necessity as far as I'm concerned. But many people like the idea of being able to explore the island with one to save time and for more of a sense of freedom. |
