Oia Hotels
Is there a difference between Delfini Villas and Delfini Hotel? And I don't see too many recommendations for Delfini Villas. Is that because it is unliked or unknown? Thanks!
|
The website for Delfini villas also calls it "Delfini hotel," so I believe it's one and the same.
I've never seen any other reference to a "Delfini hotel" that is a different property. I don't think Oia is big enough for two Delfinis. :) |
Yes, it is one and the same. Having words like 'Villas', 'Hotel' and 'Apartments' on their keyword list insures the maximum number of hits on the various hotel websites.

Lily,
My husband and I just spend two nights at delfini villas in Oia and loved it! The site is www.delfinivillas.com We had a clean, small room with a balcony and gorgeous view for 60 euros a night. The owner, Rena, is a pleasant, helpful woman. We thought the location was just great! |
Thanks Bettina222 - great to hear as we are booked there in early June!

Lily,
Be sure to walk down the stairs to Ammoundi Bay and have lunch or dinner at Taverna Katina. It was delicious! |
I second both of those recommendations! We just returned from a 2 night stay at Delfini Villas and wished we had stayed longer. We had a small room facing the caldera with a balcony and the view was splendid. Be sure to try the tomato fritters at Taverna Katina. We took a long walk along the caldera in the direction of Fira. It was beautiful and getting to Fira made us realize how much we appreciated the advice on this forum in staying in Oia instead of Fira. It is so touristy and packed with tour buses. Oia is calm, peaceful and relaxing. Be sure to bring a hat or sunscreen as the sun was quite strong even when cloudy.

Thanks everyone - I just can't wait to go!
