Ogham writing exhibit

We will be in Paris in December. Does anyone know of a museum or current exhibit in Paris or the environs featuring "ogham" writing?

Hi jhaskell,

I am somewhat familiar with the subject of ogham script. I do not know of any museums in or around Paris that feature examples of ogham script. That doesn't mean there isn't a museum around here somewhere where you might not find an example or two but I doubt you'll find any whole exhibits dedicated to this style of ancient writing.

I know of an amateur archaeological organization in the northeast US who have members interested in this topic. Their web address is www.neara.org and perhaps you might find someone on their website to whom you could pose this question.

It looks as though you'll need to go over to Ireland.

But...I wonder whether there might be something in Brittany, given the Celt heritage.

Thanks for both of your replies. I am not familiar with the NEARA site....will check it out.
I have spent time in Brittany...did not find any ogham but lots of dolmans and other Celt items of interest.
My research hasn't turned up any ogham script in Paris either.

Since NEARA is a volunteer organization you will find some rather, um, "creative" members with some rather "creative" ideas. But there are also some bright and intelligent members as well and some who are quite knowledgeable about ogham script. Good luck with your research.
