We ask if travel changes us, but the last 9 years of the life of Christopher Reeve was a journey that even he admitted he would not have taken by choice.

Yet take it he did, and we look now with new eyes at debilitating injuries.

I am really upset over this news - I thought it wouldn't be long before he might be walking again. What a shock to read about his passing this morning.

I was hoping for a miracle and was shocked that he passed away too.

I guess he did what he needed to do here, but he was only 1 year older than I am... And I feel like I've only just begun to live my life! Time is precious - live your dreams!

I watched Christopher Reeve's story with interest over the years since the accident. I listened to his interviews about living with his disability. I remembered back to when he was in the Superman movies and how he was such a heart throb for young girls. He had a beautiful face but isn't it strange how much move beautiful he became after his accident. His face radiated, it was as if love shone through him. Did anyone else see him like this or was it just me?

I am so saddened to hear about Christopher Reeve. I know that he was an inspiration to so many people. I think that he really put the emphasis of spinal cord injury research in the forefront. We are still a good way from having a cure but he has paved the way for one. My prayers are with his family.

If only those issues that Christopher Reeve felt so deeply about are kept alive and are successful, he will have accomplished even more through this tragedy.
I, too, noticed the glow about him, he was indeed a special man and he will be missed in many ways.

I was vacationing in London when I heard the news that he had fallen off his horse. I remember thinking, "Big deal, so he fell off a horse," having no idea of the extent of his injuries. I was shocked when I returned to the US and learned what a life-altering accident this was, and I was ashamed of myself for my initial response. After that he went on to inspire so many disabled people with his courage. He was indeed a superhero.

Christopher Reeve became an inspiration to me in that way - everytime I don't want to exercise or go out with friends or when I have some little annoyance while traveling, I think of Chris and how happy he would be to be able to do what I'm complaining aobut!

I heard about his passing last night (West Coast) right before I went to bed. I was so sad to hear about it. He definitely became an inspiration to everyone, not just those with spinal cord injuries. I only hope that his good work will continue. Rest in Peace, Superman. My prayers are with his family.

Just heard this sad news this morning. He had such determination, I truly looked forward to seeing him walk. I regret that time never came.

Let us hope that he is again soaring in the sky.

And what about Dana? She epitomizes a woman's love for a man. My thoughts are with the entire famiy.

Dana is an amazing woman. I can only imagine how hard it's been for her all these years, yet she stayed by his side and never complained. She must have really meant it when she vowed to stay with him "in sickness and in health, till death do us part."
