Off to Paris soon and need some suggestions for the long weekend!
Just to complicate things my 17 yr old daughter is joining us plus her BFF.
We arrive on a Thursday Aug 21st and leave the following Wednesday and I'd appreciate some suggestions for activities for the girls. Both have been to Paris before (my DD has been a few times and her friend joined us on a trip 4 years ago). We've just booked flights and hotels so far but we also have a few commitments as DH will be attending a conference. We have a cocktail reception one night, dinner in the Louvre another so packing will be fun! I'll be with the girls over the weekend but they're on their own Monday and much of Tuesday. They'd like to check out La plage as that would be new for them but other than that and tickets for Parc Asterix on the Friday they have no other plans so far. They are both into shopping so best flea market for treasures would be great / costume jewelry, quirky clothes (nearby? cheap?) They will happily spend quite a bit of time eating crepes and ice creams plus shopping in Monoprix. DD's friend isn't really into art but would enjoy some music event. Friend is very sporty, my DD not so much! We arrive on a Thursday Aug 21st and leave the following Wednesday. We're staying at The Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile for 2 nights http://www.parisetoile.regency.hyatt...otel/home.html and The Westin Vendome for the rest of the time. http://www.thewestinparis.com/ Thanks :) |

I hate to break it to your daughter, but the last day for Plages is August 17th. Bummer, I know, as I missed it by just a day in 2012 when we took our nieces to Paris. I'm sure your daughter and her friend will find lots of fun things to do. One of the highlights for my girls was the night Segway tour

I've taken a few cooking classes in Paris, so if they like that, it would be a nice activity for Mom and the girls to do while your husband is at a conference. The best english language ones I've taken are with La Cuisine Paris and Cook'n with Class. I speak French and have taken some at Lenotre and l'Atelier des Gateaux too. Always a fun experience.
It sounds like a fabulous time, hope your daughter isn't too bummed about missing La Plage though :( |
Thanks Robert
Tracilee, they will be bummed! I'll pass on the segway link to them Ruby, I'm not into cooking, my daughter is but her friend not so much so it's a 'maybe'! I'll suggest the girls look into it. |
