Off the Beaten Path Greek Isle?

Hi everyone,

My wife and I are thinking of spending a few weeks this coming August on a Greek isle. We are 50ish and our wild party days are behind us. We seek a quieter island with small towns, nice beaches and lots of opportunity to relax. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Ben

Hi BenJudy

Like you, my parter and I are close to your age group and our party days are over too. We sometimes wish they werent though LOL.

We loved Symi. Fly to Rhodes, then ferry to the island which takes only about 1.5 hours max. It's a different world. Nice people, quiet, visually beautiful and a great beach at Pedi. Lots of good walks too.

You could of course split your trip.

We had our first week in Lindos (Rhodes) then the second on Symi. It was a good 'mix' for us.

Hopefully some others will come along and give you more suggestions.

Three more for you to consider. Tinos, Syros and Andros. All in the Kyklades and easily reached by boat from Piraeus or Rafina in a few hour.

I've just posted some information about Tinos and Syros on another thread so please click on my name and you will find it.

Ther are lots of nice bits of Crete that match your description and you could mix it with Karpathos, which I've not been to but which friends swear by
